Canyoning and outdoor sports near Cannes Mandelieu

The surroundings of Cannes and Mandelieu la Napoule of course allow you to enjoy the coastline and plenty of water activities such as sea kayaking. But the Cannes region with its nearby mountainous terrain has much more to offer. You can indeed practice canyoning, rock climbing, mountain biking or even hiking!

Canyoning around Cannes and Mandelieu

The relief of the Alpes Maritimes very close to Cannes and Mandelieu presents numerous clues suitable for the practice of canyoning. You can actually discover this very popular aquatic activity in the summer season just 45 minutes away!

The closest to Cannes and Mandelieu is the Gorges du Loup canyon. It is one of the best half-day canyons in the Alpes Maritimes. Ultra fun, it will suit athletes eager for thrills as well as beginners or families with children. We can indeed adapt the level of the course to the level of the participants.

The Cramassouri canyon is barely further away. This is a really aesthetic descent which will be ideal with young children since the water is warmer there. This rather quiet canyon will, however, leave sports enthusiasts wanting more.

If you are motivated and ready to ride a little more, we can enjoy magnificent canyons for a full day. About an hour’s drive away, the very fun descent of the Bollène canyon in Vésubie is one of the great classics of 06. Allow around 1h30 to reach the Barbaira, one of the most beautiful canyons in Europe!

Rock climbing near Cannes and Mandelieu

There is a large choice of climbing sites near Cannes and Mandelieu la Napoule.

One of the closest is the Rocher des Monges in Théoule sur Mer. There you will find very classy climbing on the beautiful red rock of the Esterel massif. The Rocher des Monges, on the other hand, will require a minimum of experience and does not offer routes suitable for complete beginners. It is also not possible to enjoy it in summer. Too hot! For an introductory climbing session, it is best to go to the Bagarée site in Colle sur Loup. Along the river, you can discover the activity on small, easy paths that are not very impressive. This site, however, is too cold and humid in winter. In fact, in winter you can climb the cliffs of La Turbie a little further away with a magnificent sea view.

Mountain biking and hiking in Esterel

Je vous recommande vivement ce canyoning surtout si vous avez la chance de le faire avec Rémi, le guide que nous avons eu. Nous le remercions infiniment pour sa bonne humeur, sa proximité, son professionnalisme, son écoute, sa pédagogie et sa bienveillance. Avec Rémi, tout est plus facile. Il nous met en confiance et nous rappelle en permanence que le saut n’est pas obligatoire ; tout en nous rassurant. Rémi trouve une solution à chaque descente ! Super demi journée avec Olivier et une belle découverte pour nous tous ! Nous avons passé une super journée en famille au Canyon de la Barbaira avec nos ados. Olivier, notre guide, était au top ! Sympa, expérimenté, ponctuel, souriant et surtout très professionnel, il a su s’adapter parfaitement à notre groupe.  Il a permis aux plus sportifs de réaliser de grands sauts en toute sécurité, tout en ménageant des pauses bien méritées lorsque le froid et la fatigue se faisaient sentir. Une super expérience avec un guide au top ! Super expérience ! Notre guide était vraiment au top : très professionnel, expérimenté, sympathique et surtout incroyablement calme et rassurant. J’ai particulièrement apprécié le fait qu’il nous encourage à écouter notre corps et nos peurs, sans jamais nous pousser à faire quelque chose que l’on ne sentait pas. Une super journée, MERCI Quelle aventure incroyable ! Du début à la fin, l'organisation a été parfaite. Recommend 100% canyoning with Olivier - Bollene Very great experience with Olivier. Olivier was very organised, very calm, very patient and put people in confidence. The canyoning in « la Bollene » was fantastic. Lovely nature, variety of activities (jumping, sliding, swimming, walking. We will book him again next year when we are back!
