Barbaira, the best of canyoning on the french Riviera
Just after the Italian border, Barbaira is one of the finest canyons in Southern France, with incredibly diverse and astonishing views and you are bound to be amazed by its beauty. It’s about one hour from Nice by car.
How difficult is it ?
Canyoning in Barbaira is not too strenuous (grade 2) and the route is not very demanding if you choose the easiest ways. Though, you must be fit, especially if you are a beginner as the descent lasts about 4 hours, plus the walk to the canyon which takes about 40 minutes.
It can be a challenging and thrilling experience for sportsmen who like tobogganing and abseiling and you can jump down from 10 meters high rocks into the river, in an outstanding natural setting.
It is accessible to children older than 12.
65 euros per person and 60 euros if there are 6 people and more.
You will pay your canyoning guide with cash when you arrive on the spot.
Do not come without making prior arrangements as I cannot take too many people.
Do contact me to say when and where we’ll meet.
The meeting point is at Beausoleil motorway exit, just after Monaco and La Turbie when you drive from Nice. Your canyoning guide will meet you at the petrol station.
