What is aquatic hike?
Aquatic hike is a simplified version of canyoning.
Here, there are no ropes or rappels:
You walk and swim along the bed of the Loup River, linking small jumps, natural slides, and swimming through turquoise pools.

If you’re feeling even slightly adventurous, we recommend starting with the level 2 canyoning trip with rappelling. It’s actually very accessible for the vast majority of you, as the descent is done via a natural water slide. This aquatic hike is especially recommended if you’re particularly anxious about descending with a rope!
Meeting point for aquatic hike in the Gorges du Loup canyon
Do not come without contacting me to book as I cannot take too many people.
First you must drive to Pont du Loup, between Bar sur Loup and Vence. From Pont du Loup, you have to drive up the gorge in direction of Greolières. After leting the Saut du Loup on your right, you will arrive to a place called Bramafan. Just after entering Bramafan, take a small path on your right called Chemin des Cabanes (It’s indicated Pré-Royer, GR51). Park on Chemin des Cabanes on the places on the right of the path after driving about 100m.
On-site parking and convenient organization
On-site parking is easy and free. You’ll be fitted with wetsuits, harnesses, and helmets at our base in the Gorges du Loup. Leave your towels and change of clothes there. We’ll then provide a free shuttle to the Gorges du Loup canyon, just 5 minutes from our base, where the descent begins. At the end of the aquatic hike, we’ll shuttle you back to the meeting point. Your guide will also hold your car keys for you during the outing.

👟 A pair of sports shoes in good condition for going into the canyon, such as running, hiking or tennis shoes… DO NOT BRING SHOES FOR WALKING BY THE SEA!

The Gorges du Loup canyon: a unique natural site for discovering aquatic hike!
Located near Nice, Cannes, and Grasse, the Gorges du Loup canyon is one of the jewels of the Alpes-Maritimes. It’s in the Parc Naturel Régional des Préalpes d’Azur in a Natura 2000 area with a very high level of biodiversity.
Its limestone cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and spectacular waterfalls make it a must-see for beginners in canyoning.
By choosing the Loup water hike, you can discover this iconic canyon at your own pace, without any technical constraints, while enjoying a wild and unspoiled setting.
The course of the aqua-hiking outing in the Gorges du Loup
After a welcome at the site, your guide will explain how to equip yourself (wetsuit, helmet, harness).
We’ll start with a short safety briefing.
Then, it’s off for about a two-hour aquatic adventure in the Loup Canyon!
