Cramassouri, ideal canyon for beginners on the Côte d’Azur

Cramassouri is probably one of the most beautiful half-day canyons on the Côte d’Azur for beginners. At 45 minutes from Nice, Antibes or Cannes by car, at the beginning of the Tinée valley, this is an ideal spot for a gradual introduction to canyoning.

Alex storm in october 2020 has deeply modified the Cramassouri canyon, bringing some stones in the pools. However, the big rains of 2024 spring started to dig again the canyon and it is good fun to go with young children as it’s now possible to do small slides! This canyon is also perfect if you just want to relax in an incredible spot.

Is canyoning in Cramassouri difficult?

While following the river, you’ll meet small obstacles like slides or abseils but nothing is really complicated. The canyon will be perfect to learn how to abseil gradually and you will become more and more confident. The highest abseil (10 meters) will be at the end. You will also find small slides which will be perfect to introduce young children to canyoning during a funny outing! On top of that, the water is rather warm and it’s ideal for the young ones.

With Canyon06, a jump or slide is never mandatory! Your guide will always be able to offer you an alternative. Our goal is above all for everyone to have fun at their own level.

The rocks above the river are statuesque and no doubt it is one of the most beautiful canyons of the French Riviera.
So it is a perfect introduction to canyoning as well as a fine way to enjoy an afternoon in a magnificent environment.

If you are searching for big jumps or slides, the best would be to do Gorges du loup canyon.

From Nice, you must drive up the Var valley at the beginning, then the Tinée road (which goes to Isola 2000). The meeting point is about 1 kilometer after La Courbaisse. There is a carpark on the right.

Je vous recommande vivement ce canyoning surtout si vous avez la chance de le faire avec Rémi, le guide que nous avons eu. Nous le remercions infiniment pour sa bonne humeur, sa proximité, son professionnalisme, son écoute, sa pédagogie et sa bienveillance. Avec Rémi, tout est plus facile. Il nous met en confiance et nous rappelle en permanence que le saut n’est pas obligatoire ; tout en nous rassurant. Rémi trouve une solution à chaque descente ! Super demi journée avec Olivier et une belle découverte pour nous tous ! Nous avons passé une super journée en famille au Canyon de la Barbaira avec nos ados. Olivier, notre guide, était au top ! Sympa, expérimenté, ponctuel, souriant et surtout très professionnel, il a su s’adapter parfaitement à notre groupe.  Il a permis aux plus sportifs de réaliser de grands sauts en toute sécurité, tout en ménageant des pauses bien méritées lorsque le froid et la fatigue se faisaient sentir. Une super expérience avec un guide au top ! Super expérience ! Notre guide était vraiment au top : très professionnel, expérimenté, sympathique et surtout incroyablement calme et rassurant. J’ai particulièrement apprécié le fait qu’il nous encourage à écouter notre corps et nos peurs, sans jamais nous pousser à faire quelque chose que l’on ne sentait pas. Canyoning Excellent vraiment nous avons fait les gorges du loup avec ma femme et mes 2 enfants et ouf avons vraiment adoré tous les 4 c était la première fois que nous essayons le canyoning et du coup nous allons nous y mettre 🤩 sans oublier notre moniteur Olivier qui a était vraiment cool 👍.

Une super journée, MERCI Quelle aventure incroyable ! Du début à la fin, l'organisation a été parfaite. Merci à Olivier et Rémi notre guide tellement sympathique, souriant et bienveillant avec notre enfant afin qu’il profite en toute sécurité. Recommend 100% canyoning with Olivier - Bollene Very great experience with Olivier. Olivier was very organised, very calm, very patient and put people in confidence. The canyoning in « la Bollene » was fantastic. Lovely nature, variety of activities (jumping, sliding, swimming, walking. We will book him again next year when we are back!
